New Swimming Pool Installation - Retirement Village

Client's Brief

We were instructed by a large building contractor to install a swimming pool in a Retirement village. They had the means of constructing the pool shell using reinforced concrete and we completed everything from there on. The pool shell had been designed to be a 1.2m constant depth swimming pool. It incorporated two main drains to meet HSE recommendations and had adequate flow and return fittings sited in the pool shell. As a feature, four LED underwater lights were added into the shell to give an amazing apperance when the pool hall lights were turned off.

Outline Of Work

Work started by pressure testing all of the pipework from the plant room to the pool shell to guarantee it had not been ruptured whilst the shell was being completed. We then moved on to installing the underwater lights, skimmer, return fittings and main drains. Once these were installed and the pool shell had been fully cleaned and checked for smoothness, specialist contractors were brought in to fit the commercial lining. The disabled access ladder, deck boxes and commercial roller were then fitted into the pool surround. The swimming pool was then filled to ensure that it was watertight.

Whilst the pool shell work was being completed, we fitted the plant equipment into the plant room. This included a 2hp Sta-Rite swimming pool pump, 24" Triton Filter, 12kw Thermalec swimming pool heater, 2 cubic metre settlement tank and a Redox/pH Auto Dosing system.

All of the equipment was then tested and the pool handed over with training and instructions to our client.
